OSCAR L. RICE, SR.

Oscar Leonard Rice Sr affectionately known as “Nip” was born on October 4, 1938 by a midwife in their home off Corbin Ferry Road in Lake Providence, Louisiana to the late Irena Thompson-Rice and Jake Cain Rice of Alligator, Mississippi. 

Oscar accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with Central Baptist #2 Church under the leadership of Reverend Jessie Knight.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and devoted wife Ivogene Rice, two daughters; Sybil Rice and Imogene Plummer; six sons; Oscar Rice, Jr., Curley Rice (Erica), Ernest Rice(Farrah), Earl Rice, Malcolm Plummer and the late Sterlin Rice, Sr. whom preceded him in death.  Sister: Idell Rice and sister-in-laws Bonnie Rice and Julia Stewart and host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
