Obituary
Juanita Lane Brown was the only child born to Alzonia Cosey and Peter Lane on April 13, 1935 in Lake Village, Arkansas. She was reared in Lake Providence, Louisiana and educated in the East Carroll Parish school system. Juanita worked in multiple capacities such as teacher’s aide, CNA, housekeeper, but her most important role was as a loving homemaker. She was joined in matrimony to Bayles Benny Brown, Jr. on April 21, 1953.
Juanita lived a full and happy life. She was an avid reader and beautiful person inside and out, who will be truly missed. She loved and nurtured many as she journeyed on the earthly shore. All the neighborhood children, along with her grand and great-grandchildren, affectionately called her “Granny”. She made her transition on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Merit Health River Region Hospital in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
Juanita was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on December 31, 1972. She was a faithful and dedicated witness for 47 years and served Jehovah until her demise. Until her health declined, Juanita loved to travel and attend conventions.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband: Bayles “B- Mac” Brown, Jr., and two daughters: Alice (Otis, deceased) Allen and Alma Lee Brown, her granddaughter: Allison Danielle Brown, and her stepdaughter Yvonne Banks.
Juanita leaves to cherish her memories three daughters: Patricia Ann, Sandra Gayle (Terry), and Shannon Juanita (Garfield); four sons: Bayles Benny III (Carolyn), James Edward (Patricia), Michael Bernard, and Paul Earnest; a stepsister: Gertie Newell Spencer; a stepson Anthony Sneed; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; one great- great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, worldwide spiritual brothers and sisters, and many friends.
